Rain brings mercury down, drop of 8 to 10 degrees in several parts of U'khand

Dehradun: Rain spells continued in Uttarakhand for the second consecutive day on Saturday, bringing down the maximum temperature by eight to ten degrees Celsius across the state. Mercury was hovering around the 40 degree-mark in the first fortnight of June, but in the last two days, it has come down to 30 degrees Celsius. Weather experts have predicted rainfall in the next 72 hours and officials have requested pilgrims and tourists to plan their trip after taking note of the weather predictions. Dehradun Met Centre director Bikram Singh told , "The rain activity will continue till June 20. It is a good spell but it will bot be heavy, only light to moderate rain. From June 20, the weather will remain dry and once again, around June 25-26, rain is expected to lash the state." He said that as heavy rain has not been predicted, it was safe to travel in one's vehicles on the hills.
