Huge Traffic Will take Place on 2nd April 2022 on the Route of Rishikesh, Dehradun and Mussoorie

Rishikesh, Mussoorie, and Dehradun:

In order to ease traffic congestion in the city, traffic police have made permanent diversions for tourists traveling to and from Mussoorie on Upcoming Weekend i.e. 2nd April 2022 Since Holidays are Starting in India and Everyone is heading towards hilly areas to spend their family time. The pilot project was first introduced on New Year’s Eve to deal with the heavy rush of visitors to the city, Now the same will be continued that Tourists coming from Delhi via Asharodi will go via Shimla bypass to Ballupur chowk and then Kuthal Gate before going to Mussoorie. Similarly, those coming via Haridwar and Jogiwala will go via Ring road, IT park, Sai mandir to Kuthal Gate, and Mussoorie.

According to officials, efforts are underway to make these diversions permanent.“Diversions have been in place since New Year and our initial data shows that the plan has yielded desired results. Tourists can easily save up to 15-25 minutes and avoid the city rush. Similarly, this will also help avoid unnecessary congestion in the city,” said superintendent of police, traffic, Akshay Konde. Officials said that because of Covid, the traffic volume is low these days. Mussoorie has also reported a lower tourist footfall this month, with hotels having only a 10-20% occupancy rate compared to 30-40% in previous years But from April tourists footfall going to be very huge since on Holi Festival it was blocked and vehicles got stuck for 5 to 9 hours on the way to Rishikesh, Dehradun, and Mussoorie.
Early summer is also encouraging adventure enthusiasts to visit these places for adventure activities such as River Rafting, Ganga River Side Camping in Rishikesh, Paragliding in Mussoorie, or Water Parks in Dehradun. Traffic officials, however, said that efforts will be made to highlight the new routes.“For now, we have put up small signs for diversions. We will work with the departments concerned to highlight these changes via hoardings and signboards. Coordination will also be done with other police units for implementation,” said the SP.

Traffic in the city has been a cause for concern for locals and tourists alike. G n G Group had also reported earlier that the traffic volume in Dehradun is currently Four times the infrastructural capability.

Officials say efforts are underway to Make these diversions permanent so that tourists have less journey time and doon is spared traffic snarls.
