Yogi: Ram Mandir will be Rashtra Mandir, a symbol of India's unity

Ayodhya: "The grand 'Ram Mandir' in Ayodhya will become a 'Rashtra Mandir' (national temple) and a symbol of India's unity," said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while laying the first stone of the sanctum sanctorum here on Wednesday.
Yogi performed the puja and laid the foundation of the sanctum sanctorum at an austere ceremony amid chanting of Vedic hymns to mark the second phase of the Ram temple construction. Deputy CM Keshav Maurya, officer-bearers of the temple trust and a few senior officials were present on the occasion. The sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple is likely to be thrown open for devotees by the end of 2023. Speaking on the occasion, Yogi said: It's a very special day for the construction of Ram Temple. It has arrived after 500 years of wait, ending the agony of devotees. A continuous 'sadhna' (struggle) is turning into 'siddhi' (success)." "It will not only be a 'national temple', but will also become a force to bind the nation in one thread under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' campaign," he said. Later, Yogi also prayed at the Hanumangarhi temple. Referring to the Ram Temple, Yogi asked 'after a struggle of 500 years what could be a greater moment of pride for every Indian than this?'
