Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government is planning to connect 17 tourist destinations in the Kumaon region of the hill state under the Manaskhand circuit over the next five years. The places to be connected as part of the project include-Jageshwar temple, Kainchi Dham, Mukteshwar, Purnagiri temple, and the Golu Devta temple. Besides, a parking lot will also be constructed near Kainchi Dham, set up by the mystic, Neem Karori baba whose followers include Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg.
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, "We have made elaborate plans to boost the tourism sector in Kumaon. The Kumaon range has major potential and several mesmerizing locations and places of religious importance." He added, "Better road connectivity would be provided to the identified locations. Also, broadening of roads would be done at places. As a pilot project, we are developing a parking area near Kainchi Dham and later, we will do so at other locations."
