River-linking project : Drinking water dept completes survey

Dehradun: following the comletion of the ground survey for the proposed river linking project,officials of the uttarakhand drinking water department are expected to meet chief minister pushkar singh Dhami next week during the meeting ,officials would presnt their ground survey report and seek the CM's nod to go ahead with the ambitious project,which aims to solve the long standing water crisis in remote areas of the hill state.
          Nitish jha secretary of the drinking water department told thet a team of experts comprising a geologist, a social activist and four engineers comleted their ground survey work between june 8 and 12. He said, " The report comprising the findings of the ground survey would be presented before CM Dhaminext week . after we get a green light from the CM, we would draft a detailed project report for the project and send it ti the central government to secure the required permission and clearance." 
       The senior government official added,"The experts who had gone for the ground survey have identified the spots from where the water from pindar river would be extracted and dropped into gomti in bageshwar river in bageshwar and koshi, lodh and gagas rivers in Almora," wasthe first to report about the project on june 11.
     MPS Bisht,grologist and director of USAC who was part of the team of experts, said " The water would be extracted from khasi village where the sunderdunga river merges with its source pindar river, and from boragadh hamlet  where shambu river merges with the pindar river
