Mussoorie is a hill station and a municipal board in the Dehradun District of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is about 35 km from the state capital of Dehradun and 290 km north of the national capital of New Delhi. This hill station is in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range. The adjoining town of Landour, which includes a military cantonment, is considered part of 'greater Mussoorie', as are the townships of Barlowganj and Jharipani.Being at an average altitude of 1,880 metres (6,170 ft), Mussoorie, with its green hills and varied flora and fauna, is a fascinating hill. Commanding snow ranges to the northeast and glittering views of the Doon Valley and Shiwalik ranges in the south, the town was once said to present a 'fairyland' atmosphere to tourists. The second highest point is the original Lal Tibba in Landour, with a height of over 2,275 metres (7,464 Ft).

How to Reach Mussoorie
By Train :
The nearest railway station is located at a distence of 35 Km at Dehradun. There are numerous trains connecting New Delhi with Dehradun, such as the Shatabdi Express (as well as the Jan Shatabdi Express), the Mussoorie Express, and the Nizamuddin AC Special. The latter two trains are overnight trains. The journey lasts approximately 5.5 hours, depending on the train chosen. All the above mentioned trains pass through Haridwar.
By Road :
Mussoorie is about to 34 Km from Dehradun. It's about 1hour 30min. journey.
By Air :
The nearest airport is the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which lies approximately 54 kilometres away, and offers daily connectivity with New Delhi .

Mussoorie is a very nice place.I recently went there.It is a good place for hangout.We had booked our tourist bus from Haridwar to Mussoorie.After crossing dehradun, I found the place full of greenery.Roads were narrow and in a zig zag manner.Environment was really pleasant and changes at an every minute.There is lake for boating and camptyfall for bathing and swimming.At night, Mussoorie seems to be like heaven full of lightening. Accommodation and hotels.
There are hotels, ice cream shop, coffee cafe.Hotels are in hygienic condition.They are affordable.
