More than 1 Lakh Pilgrims have registered for Char Dham Yatra Which is maximum for Kedarnath

In positive news for the state's tourism sector, more than 1 lakh pilgrims have already registered for the Char Dham Yatra, scheduled to start on 3rd May 2022 with the opening of Gangotri and Ymunotri shrines.
Of the total 10,258 registrations made so far, the highest of 41,107 is for Kedarnath, followed by Badrinath (29,488), Gangotri (16,80), and Yamunotri (15,829). The registration facility for all four revered shrines is available both online and offline. those who come to these temples without a booking will be provided with the option of on-spot registration at different counters set up along the Char Dham routes.
Additionally, a control room has also been set up in Dehradun to provide all relevant information to the pilgrims. A toll-free number "1364" and other helpline numbers- 0135-1364, 0135-2559898, 0135-2552627, and 0135-3520100 - have also been released for this purpose. on average, the control room receives 400-to-500 inquiry calls per day. This year, a vehicle tracking mechanism has been introduced. Also, cameras on the route will keep track of traffic, and 'yatra mitras' available at over a hundred kiosks will assist with on-spot registration for pilgrims. Last year, over four lakh pilgrims visited the Char Dham shrines between September 18 and October 31, with the maximum footfall of over two lakh in Kedarnath.
