Haridwar: Union minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday said that a craft village, with shops selling local products, will be set up in Haridwar and it will soon emerge as a tourist attraction. He said land for the project will be demarcated soon.
The minister added, "To increase tourist footfall in Haridwar, a craft village will be set up here. Indigenous products will be sold in this craft village to tourism in the district and strengthen local craftsmen financially." Meanwhile, Goyal added that Haridwar has been shortlisted as an "aspirational district" by the central government.
"The district has done a good job in all sectors like health, education, and cleanliness campaigns in the last four years," the minister said.
