Chamoli floods: 2 bodies recovered from Tapovan

Dehradun: Two more bodies have been recovered by relief and rescue teams from the tunnel of NTPC's Tapovan -Vishnugad hydropower project, which was ravaged by flash floods caused by a glacial burst in February last year.
A headless body and a body part belonging to another victim of the flash flood were found inside the intel tunnel by company personnel who were cleaning the flush, according to Chamoli police.
"A team from Tapovan police chowki with the help of the hydropower company officials recovered the bodies," Shweta Choubey, SP Chamoli, told. 
"The headless body has been identified as that of Harish Singh of Dhak village near Joshimath. The other body part has not been identified as yet," Choubey said, adding that "82 bodies and one human body part have been found so far."
Chamoli flash flood had choked tunnel at Tapovan site 
A flash flood in Rishiganga and Dhauliganga rivers had completely damaged the Rishiganga hydel project and partially damaged NTPC's Tapovan project. 
The flood, which originated in Raini village of Chamoli in February last year, completely washed away the Rishiganga hydel project on the Dhauliganga river and badly damaged the Tapovan-Vishnugad project. Bridges were swept away, villages were cut off and as many as 206 people died, including 140 employees of firms hired by NTPC.
