After rain & thunderstorm activity, dry weather to prevail again in the state

Dehradun: After witnessing rain and thunderstorm activity in the past 72 hours, temperature levels are expected to shoot up once again in Uttarakhand in the coming days. According to the Met office, dry weather will prevail in most the places from 6th May 2022 and maximum temperature levels, which dropped and settled around normal due to rain activity, will start rising once again.
In the plain region, including Dehradun, it is expected that the maximum temperature levels could reach the 40-degree Celsius mark. Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts could also record similar temperature levels, said  Met office.
On Thursday, the maximum temperature in Dehradun was recorded at 35 degrees Celsius, which was around normal. Meanwhile, the mercury dropped to 33.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, almost two notches below normal.
Significantly, Uttarakhand has witnessed 17% excess rainfall in the first five days of May with 7.8 mm rainfall lashing against the normal 6.7 mm rain during the period. In the past 24 hours, several places in both Kumaon and Garhwal have received rainfall with Munsiyari and Berinag in Pithoragarh receiving a maximum of 30 mm of rain each.
However, dry weather is expected to prevail during the next one week, which will result in rising temperature and humidity levels, according to the regional Met office.
